Our Mission:
The Molokaʻi Youth Food Summit empowers keiki to engage deeply in their cultural heritage, weaving together traditional wisdom with modern food and farming practices. By lifting up youth voices and providing hands-on experiences, we advocate for sustainable and equitable food systems that honor our ʻāina and our people.

“E Nānā Mai I Kāu Mau Pulapula – Look to Our Descendants” guides everything we do. Our ʻāina (land) and our kūpuna (elders) provide the wisdom and roots that ground us. By connecting ancestral knowledge with today’s practices, we strengthen the bridge between tradition and innovation.
Why It Matters:
Hawaiʻi’s future depends on the resilience of its youth and the health of its food systems. This summit creates a space where culture, innovation, and community come together. We believe in looking to our descendants, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to thrive while honoring the generations who came before us.
Who We Are:
The summit is presented by the Molokaʻi Homestead Youth Council, Hui Mea ʻAi, Molokaʻi Future Farmers of America, and Molokaʻi High School Youth Entrepreneurs, with support from community sponsors including Hoʻolehua Homesteaders Association, Sustainable Molokaʻi, and Hanai Kaiāulu.
Our Vision:
The Molokaʻi Youth Food Summit is more than an event, it’s a movement led by and for the next generation. We envision a future where Hawaiʻi’s keiki are confident in their cultural identity, equipped with modern skills, and empowered to build food systems that are resilient, equitable, and sustainable.
Community Impact:
By bringing together students, families, educators, and community partners, the summit creates opportunities to learn and grow together. From farm tours to resource sharing, the event fosters connections that last beyond the day, building pathways for careers, cultural pride, and food sovereignty in Hawaiʻi.
